Program Description

This program is designed to offer students with no professional grooming experience as an avenue to enter the market in a relatively short period of time. Students concentrate on basic pet grooming and handling of dogs and cats (cats optional), including brushing, combing, clipping nails, cleaning ears, preparatory clipping, bathing, drying, and basic finishing techniques for various long-haired, short-haired and double-coated breeds. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to work competently at the approved level with minimal supervision.

This program is for you if you if you are tentative about doing this as a career, but simply love animals, and would like to get your feet wet. The most critical part of any groom are proper bathing and drying techniques - without those - no groomer nor stylist can ever produce a high-quality product which brings customers back over and over again. We will teach you the skills to become a highly productive part of the grooming department team. Many students have signed up for this program learn quickly that they enjoy what they're doing and upgrade to more comprehensive training program at Paragon.
